An introduction to Firearm design – one day

Do you know your Boxlock from Sidelock? Demi-bloc from Mono? Are you a trigger plate preacher or Sidelock sycophant? If you’ve always been fascinated by how things work and have a passion for firearms, this one-day course is perfect for you.

The course is run by Peter Boxall, former manufacturing director of Holland & Holland and proprietor and managing Director of Boxall & Edmiston. During the course, attendees will see live examples of firearm design, with Computer Aided Design (CAD) models to help explain why certain principles work so well and how they have stayed the same for generations.

Looking at each aspect of a firearms design, from barrels right through to the choice of steel for the engraver, this introductory course will give a real insight into firearm design. This course is an excellent start point for the introduction to gunsmithing and the courses are held on consecutive days for those who wish to attend both.

The cost of this course is currently £180, there is a 20% discount for BASC or GTA members. To reserve a place on the course please contact us via the contacts tab, the option to pay by paypal will be available soon.
